Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions, hoping to address your doubts. If not, please write to us, and we will gladly assist you.

What is the minimum number of people for the tour?
Our rates are calculated for a minimum of 1 person.
Why do we need to be ready at 5:00 am?
You must be ready at 5:00 am because we have 1 hour to pick up all the clients staying in different hotels (from 5:00 am to 6:00 am). If you are not ready when we arrive, you will lose all the benefits acquired with the purchase of our packages. Remember that transportation is shared with other people.
Can you pick me up later?
If you purchased our VIP package (private), we will pick you up at the time you wish.
What type of car do you use for our transfer to the region?
We have Toyota Fortuner 4×4 trucks, designed to transport up to 7 people. However, in order to optimize our customers’ comfort and comply with the requirements of the Guna General Congress and the difficulty of the road leading to San Blas, we limit the capacity to 6 passengers per vehicle.

It is worth noting that our cars undergo regular maintenance, have comprehensive insurance coverage to ensure the safety of all passengers, and have national and regional circulation permits (authorized by the Guna General Congress).

How do 6 passengers plus the driver fit in the car?
We arrange the car as follows: 1 person in the front seat next to the driver, 3 people in the rear seats, and 2 people in the rear seats of the second row.
Why do I need to bring my original ID or passport?
It is essential to present your ORIGINAL ID or PASSPORT for the verification of the entry stamp to the country (for foreigners). This is done by the national border service before entering the region. Copies, university ID cards, driver’s licenses, or your country’s ID card are not accepted. Failure to present the original document risks not being allowed to enter the region.
Why do you charge an entrance fee?
More than a tax, it is a contribution to support different programs in the region, such as bilingual intercultural education (EBI) in primary and secondary schools to strengthen our language and cultural traditions. This contribution is collected at the entrance of the region exclusively by the Guna General Congress, which keeps a record of all visitors.
What is the boat like for the tour?
Our boat has an outboard motor and is made of fiberglass. It is covered, has a capacity for 15 to 20 adults comfortably seated, and is equipped with life jackets and a first aid kit.
If I have an issue, how do I contact you?
You will never be alone; you will always have a guide who will resolve any situation that arises. If you need to leave early due to an emergency, our boat will be ready to transport you to the port where our car awaits to transfer you back to the city. (The cost is covered by you).
Is the sea rough or choppy?
From December to March, the wind direction changes, causing the sea to be choppy. From April to November, the wind comes from the south of Panama, making the sea completely calm.
Is it recommended to travel from December to March?
Interestingly, from December to March is the season when most tourists visit our region. Therefore, we take all necessary measures to ensure a safe trip. Minimizing weight, reducing the number of people, and of course, the approval of departure by our experienced captain are some of the measures we take to guarantee a comfortable and safe trip. It is NOT recommended for children under 5 years old and pregnant women.
What is the recommended age for the tour? Relatively, everyone can participate in our tour. We recommend children from 1 year old and older people with physical conditions to get on and off the boat.
Will I have signal or phone service on the island?
Currently, Tigo and Mas Movil are the two companies that have signal on most islands. If you do not belong to any of these companies and need to make an emergency call, our guide or staff can assist you.
What type of food do you offer?
The restaurants offer the catch of the day. If you are vegetarian or have any dietary restrictions, it is essential to notify us at the time of booking, so we can be prepared upon your tour and arrival at the restaurant. It is worth noting that the restaurants do not specialize in any type of food, and the vast majority of the dishes are homemade style.
Are there mosquitoes on the island?
There are no mosquitoes on the island, but there are usually mosquitoes at the port from March to November. We recommend bringing repellent and long-sleeved clothing if you have very sensitive skin.
Can I bring a cooler?
You can bring anything you want in the cooler. We recommend plenty of water and snacks.
